At ARCT Transport Ltd we are aware of the impact Covid-19 can and will have on our business. We are monitoring this situation on a daily, if not hourly, basis and recognise that there are still many unknowns.
However, we do understand that Covid-19 will more than likely have a significant impact on our operation, the well-being of our staff, our supply chain and our customers. Below we outline the areas we have considered and our response.
This document will be subject to change.
Interruptions in our deliveries are expected. We know that consignments from certain customers and suppliers may run late and we are committed to making the best of a challenging sphere of operation. We may also need to assess our supply chain regularly should our suppliers meet difficulties in fulfilling orders. Continued communication will be key to this process.
Remote worker capabilities
Certain key individuals, in particular the directors and administration staff, are equipped to deal with remote working to process invoices and salaries should our main offices have to close.
Keeping employees safe, informed and prepared
Our people are our most important asset. First and foremost, every employee will be advised on how to fulfil their job, to the best of their ability, without putting themselves in unnecessary danger. For example: social distancing when delivering products to customers’ homes and in the workplace, regular hand washing, the use of hand sanitising gel when on the road, covering one’s mouth when sneezing, asking staff with a fever or cough not to attend the workplace in line with the timeframes specified by the government, avoidance of face touching, disinfecting and cleaning the work spaces frequently, especially frequently touched objects and surfaces, and limiting those who touch handheld screens and regularly sanitising them. Each employee is responsible for their own wellbeing and that of those around them. It is a collective effort.
We will ensure proper guidance, training and open lines of communication to all our staff to avoid misunderstanding, and to ensure full transparency. We will endeavour to access the correct information about Covid-19 and to share it with staff as and when it becomes available or is reviewed. This open line of communication with staff will hopefully foster safe and calm work practices during challenging times. We will also listen to feedback from staff regarding their roles and the challenges they face in the midst of a global pandemic. Risk assessments will be made on a daily basis.
We will leverage multiple channels to communicate information which is in line with public health recommendations on the prevention of a pandemic infectious disease outbreak to our employees as well as adhering to the required levels of hygiene and prudent action. We will closely monitor the (WHO), NHS, and Government guidelines. We will try to limit face-to-face meetings as an when the situation requires us to do so.
We will ensure that all data is backed-up and that key individuals are well versed in each other’s roles in the event of absence, to facilitate both the recovery and operational phase of a pandemic.
Preparing for any event is not as difficult as reacting too late after it has occurred. For that reason ARCT Transport Ltd is committed to managing their response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
