THERE IS NO PLANET B
WE BELIEVE CHANGE IS IN OUR HANDS
As an organisation we strive to have a positive impact environmentally, socially and economically. Net Zero are not just words. In fact, the pursuit of zero emissions is our mission and a necessary journey upon which we have to embark in order to secure the future of generations to come.
For that reason, we are blazing a trail to carbon neutrality, starting with the installation of a charging infrastructure of AC and DC charging units to allow us to integrate EVs into our delivery fleet. This integration we see as being exponential, in line with the release of EVs of increased range in the UK market.
In Scotland, we live in a country rich in renewable resources, in particular wind! Scotland continues to erect wind farms and generate offshore wind energy. We foresee our fleet being fuelled by the wind as the market develops in line with climate activism. In fact, we are proud to say all our electricity consumption is from 100% renewable sources.
Our dream is to have photovoltaic panels on site, topping up our energy provision - despite our wet and drab Scottish climate! This is an area we are actively exploring as the EV fleet expands. We seek to innovate in this respect moving forward to take full advantage of nature's offerings! Although, we may have to transfer our hub to Spain!
Our Electrification Video/Picture Diary
AS OUR CIVIL WORKS BEGIN AT OUR GLASGOW HUB, WE HOPE TO BE ABLE TO SHARE SHORT DOCUMENTAL VIDEOS OF THE INSTALLATION AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CHARGING HARDWARE.
The Arctic is warming more than twice as fast as the global average – which will have huge consequences for us and our natural world.
Globally we are experiencing an increase in pests and diseases and more frequent and intense droughts and floods, in turn reducing the long-term availability of food. Heat-stress caused by global warming results in poor yields, or worse, crop failures. Reducing climate pollutants, predominantly a byproduct of burning fossil fuels, gives us our best chance to rapidly limit global temperature rise and reduce the risks to food security, in addition to avoiding frequent natural disasters around the globe.
AC AND DC CHARGING
Installing an in-house charging infrastructure, in addition to the development of the public infrastructure by Scottish Government, will facilitate our transition to Net Zero Emissions. Our long-term plan is to charge our fleet overnight on AC for optimal performance.
IT'S A GROWTH INDUSTRY
The rate at which product is releasing to the EV market is eye-watering and we expect further expontential growth heading towards 2022, during which we hope to see EVs exceeding a range of 200 miles and a load of one tonne.
